Local SEO in San Diego for small businesses

They are on page 1.
You're not.

The top 3 Google Map Pack results are where local searchers look first, and most never scroll past them. That is the job.

What it is

Local SEO, here, means two things

The map pack — the three pinned businesses Google shows above everything else when someone in San Diego searches for what you do — and the organic results underneath it for searches like "emergency plumber near me" or "roof repair Chula Vista". Both are free traffic. Unlike ads, organic rankings keep working after you stop paying. They compound.

What it costs

$750 once. Then $1,400 a month if you want it ongoing.

Step 1 · Start here

Google Business Profile Setup — $750, one-time, per location. The profile claimed, verified and filled in by hand in 10 business days. No monthly fee, no contract, no setup fee. Everything that is in it.

Step 2 · Local SEO Starter

$1,400 a month, month-to-month, no setup fee. Profile management (four posts a month, photo refresh, Q&A, spam-listing reports), a response to every review within two business days and a monthly review-ask campaign, the 50+ directory build-out in month one and fixes after, one new keyword-targeted page or location page a month, rank tracking on 10 keywords, a one-page report and a 30-minute call. Needs the profile setup first and a website we can publish to; if there is none, month one substitutes one hosted service page on your domain.

Step 3 · The packages

Foundation $3,400, Growth $4,800, Dominate $6,800 a month, each plus a $3,500 one-time site build, billed half at kickoff and half at launch. Starter plus Google Ads management plus four, eight or twelve pages a month (one, two or three a week), earned backlinks and call tracking. Ad spend is paid directly to Google on top. Every price in one place.

Every monthly plan is month-to-month, no minimum term: cancel with notice before the next billing date and that month is the last one billed. You keep everything we built.

First cohort: ten spots. Start any monthly plan in the first cohort and the $750 profile setup is on us. A price in writing before we start.

Who it is for

Small businesses people search for by need and by place

Contractors and trades first — plumbers, HVAC, roofers, electricians, landscapers — and then everyone else whose customers pick up a phone after a search: clinics, shops, restaurants, gyms, salons, professional firms. If your customer types what you do and expects Google to hand them someone nearby, this is for you.

Marketing: San Diego County. Custom builds: anywhere in the US, delivered remotely.

The honest expectation

Months, not weeks. And nobody can promise a position.

A new local SEO campaign is measured in months. The first weeks go into the profile, the listings, and the first pages; Google then needs time to see consistent signals before it moves anything. We do not promise page 1 in 30 days, and we do not promise a ranking at all — Google decides that, not us and not anyone else selling this. What we promise is the work, every month, on paper, and a straight report on what it did.

How the map pack is decided

Three factors.
Google's own.

Google says it ranks local results on proximity, relevance and prominence. That is the whole list. Everything we do every month pushes on one of the three.

01 / Proximity

How close you are to the person searching

Google shows businesses near where the searcher is standing. You cannot move your address, and we will not pretend to. What we can do is make sure Google trusts the address you have — your name, address and phone number locked in consistently across 50+ directories, Yelp, Angi, Houzz and more, because inconsistent listings hurt rankings — and then expand your coverage beyond the office. We do not just rank you at your location. We systematically build pages for the surrounding neighborhoods and cities you actually drive to, so the map has a reason to show you there too.

02 / Relevance

How well you match what was typed

Google has to know exactly what you do. We set up the Google Business Profile properly — the right categories, the services list, the description, the photos — and keep it alive with four posts a month, because a profile nobody touches looks like a business nobody runs. On the site, we write one new keyword-targeted page a month on the Starter and four, eight or twelve a month on the packages: "Bathroom remodel cost [City]". "Emergency plumber [City]". Pages that answer the exact question someone just searched, in the words they used.

03 / Prominence

How well known you are, on and off Google

Reviews and what the rest of the web says about you. We respond to every review — good ones and bad ones — because a reply is a signal and a silence is one too, and we set up the ask so new reviews keep arriving from real jobs. Off the profile, on the packages, we earn two or three backlinks a month from real sites in your industry: suppliers, associations, local publications. Not link farms. This is what tells Google you are the authority in your area, and it is the slowest of the three to move.

What we do every month

Four things.
Done every month.

No shortcuts. No promises about page 1 in 30 days. Steady work that compounds.

  • New pages

One new keyword-targeted page or location page a month on the Starter. Four a month on Foundation, eight on Growth, twelve on Dominate — one, two or three a week. Each one is written, built and published by us, and built to do one thing: get the visitor to call, book, or ask for a quote.

  • Google Business Profile

Setup first, then management: four posts a month, photo refresh, Q&A, spam-listing reports, and a response to every review within two business days. Your Google Business Profile is your most important local asset. We treat it that way.

  • Authority building

On the packages, two earned backlinks a month from real sites in your industry, three on Dominate. This is what tells Google you are the authority in your area. The Starter does not include backlink outreach.

  • Directory listings

Month one: your name, address, and phone number built out consistently across 50+ directories. Yelp, Angi, Houzz, and more. After that, monitoring and fixes. Inconsistent listings hurt rankings.

  • And you see it

Rank tracking on 10 keywords, a one-page report and a 30-minute call every month. On the packages, every call is recorded and every keyword traced, so you know which page generated the lead. You own everything we build — the website, the Google Business Profile, the content. No contracts. No lock-in. Cancel any time.

Trade by trade

What local search looks like
for your trade.

General truths about how San Diego customers search. Not results — we are a new shop and we will not invent any.

Local SEO for plumbers & HVAC in San Diego

Plumbing and HVAC searches are emergency searches. A water heater fails on a Sunday, an AC quits in an East County heat wave, and the customer types "emergency plumber near me" or "AC repair open now" on a phone and calls whoever the map pack shows first. Nobody compares five websites with a bucket under the sink. That makes the map pack, the review count, the response to the last bad review, and a phone number that actually gets answered the whole game. Neighborhood coverage matters here more than most trades: a searcher in Poway is shown Poway businesses, so the pages have to reach where your vans go, not just where they park.

Local SEO for roofers in San Diego

Roofing splits into two searches. There is the leak — "roof repair near me" after the first real rain of the season — which behaves like an emergency and is won in the map pack. And there is the replacement — "roof replacement cost San Diego", "tile roof contractor" — which is researched over weeks, on a desktop, with several quotes in hand. That second search is decided by the pages: honest cost pages, pages for the roof types common in the county, pages for the cities you work. Roofing jobs are big ones, which is why the review trail and the photos on the profile carry so much weight when the customer finally chooses.

Local SEO for electricians in San Diego

Electrical search sits between panic and planning. "Electrician near me" when a breaker keeps tripping is a map-pack call. "EV charger installation San Diego", "panel upgrade cost", "solar-ready panel" are planned projects, searched with intent and read closely. Because the work is licensed and the fear of a bad job is real, prominence does the deciding: review count, review responses, and a profile that shows real jobs, not stock photos. The pages have to name the services precisely — Google cannot rank you for a panel upgrade if the word never appears on your site — and name the areas you cover, so a search from Carlsbad or Chula Vista has a page to land on.

Local SEO for landscapers in San Diego

Landscaping is a visual, seasonal, planned search. "Landscaper near me" and "drought-tolerant landscaping San Diego" get typed by people who will look at your photos before they look at your prices, so the Google Business Profile — photo uploads, before-and-afters, four posts a month — does more of the selling here than in any other trade. The searches spread across services: turf removal, pavers, irrigation, hardscape, artificial grass, each one its own page and its own way to be found. And because landscapers drive across the county, the neighborhood pages decide whether a homeowner in Encinitas ever sees a company based in Santee.

Clinics, shops, restaurants and everyone else

The trades lead because their customers search by need and by place at the same time, but the same three factors decide who a dentist, a physical therapist, a bike shop, a taco spot, a gym, a salon or an accountant gets shown to. The differences are in the details: hours and appointment links matter more, the menu or the services list has to be on the profile, the reviews are read for tone as much as for the star count, and "near me" is often typed while the person is already walking. The monthly work is the same — the profile, the listings, the pages, the links — pointed at the questions your customers ask. If you are not a contractor, you are still who this is for.

Questions owners ask

Straight
answers.

How long does local SEO take?
Months, not weeks. The first weeks go into setting up the Google Business Profile, fixing the listings and publishing the first pages. After that Google needs to see consistent signals over time before it moves anything, and how long that takes depends on your trade, your city and who you are up against. We do not promise page 1 in 30 days. We promise the work every month and a straight report on what it did.
What does local SEO cost?
Three steps. The Google Business Profile Setup is $750, one-time, per location: the profile done by hand in 10 business days, no monthly fee, no contract. Local SEO Starter is $1,400 a month: profile management, a response to every review, the 50+ directory build, one new keyword-targeted page a month, rank tracking on 10 keywords and a monthly report. The packages — Foundation $3,400, Growth $4,800, Dominate $6,800 a month — add Google Ads management and four, eight or twelve pages a month, each plus a $3,500 one-time site build billed half at kickoff and half at launch; ad spend is paid directly to Google on top. Every monthly plan is month-to-month with no setup fee: cancel with notice before the next billing date and that month is the last one billed. We are taking a first cohort of ten spots and you get the price in writing before any work starts.
Can I start with the profile setup and stop there?
Yes. The $750 setup is a finished job, not a trial: you get the profile, the handoff doc and the walkthrough call, you keep ownership, and nothing renews. If you want it managed after that, the Starter is $1,400 a month and you can cancel any time. Start any monthly plan in the first cohort and the $750 profile setup is on us — ten seats or March 31, 2027, whichever comes first, one location per client.
Do I need a new website?
Not for the Starter. It needs an existing website we can publish to; if there is none, month one substitutes one hosted service page on your domain. The packages include a five-page build, covered by the $3,500 setup, because four or more pages a month need a site that loads fast and gets people to call. If you already have a site you like, start with the free website audit: we read it and tell you straight whether it can carry the work or what would have to change. Then we quote it in writing.
What is a Google Business Profile?
The free listing Google shows for your business in Maps and in the map pack: your name, address, phone, hours, photos, reviews, services and posts. It is what a customer sees before they ever reach your website, and it is your most important local asset. We set it up properly for $750, one-time, per location; on the monthly plans we post to it four times a month, refresh the photos and respond to every review within two business days.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. Nobody can. Google decides who ranks, and anyone who guarantees you a position is either guessing or selling something else. What we guarantee is the work: the pages, the profile, the listings and the links, every month, in writing, with reporting that shows what happened. You own all of it, and you can cancel any time.
What areas do you serve?
Marketing: San Diego County. Custom builds: anywhere in the US, delivered remotely. For local SEO that means San Diego, Chula Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, Carlsbad, El Cajon, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, National City, La Mesa, Santee, Poway and the rest of the county.
